The Alberta Emerald Foundation's Emerald Educational Engagement Grant program, or EEEG for short, welcomes young people (25 years and under) to pitch a dream environmental project for the chance to receive a $750 grant.

Step 1:  Complete the Expression of Interest form. This must be approved by the Alberta Emerald Foundation (AEF) before moving to Step 2.

Step 2: Binge watch the Emerald Documentary Series and participate in conversations with the support of our study guides.

Step 3: Pitch an environmental project to the AEF inspired by something you saw in the Emerald Documentary Series. If your pitch is accepted, you will be provided with $750 to make it happen.

Step 4: Once your project is complete, submit a follow-up report to tell us how it went.

Please note:

  • You must be notified by the AEF that your expression of interest has been approved before moving onto step 2.
  • Funds are distributed in two amounts: $500 upfront when your environmental project pitch is approved. The remaining $250 will be distributed once we have reviewed your final report.
  • The AEF strives to distribute a total of 30 grants this year through the EEEG program.
  • Only group projects are eligible for funding. Individuals will not be approved for funding.
  • Applicants are only eligible for one grant per granting period.
