The Alberta Emerald Foundation (AEF) has been sharing our province’s environmental good news stories since 1992. Our storytelling journey started with the first Emerald Awards ceremony in June 1992 and continues as we move into our 33rd year of celebrating and showcasing organizations, projects, and individuals from across Alberta who are working to address environmental and climate change issues.

To elevate our storytelling and recognition of Alberta's environmental leaders, we created our Sharing Stories program in 2019, which features various digital content including The Emerald Documentary Series, What On EARTH Can We Do? podcast, and Environmental Speaker Series.

With a legacy spanning over three decades, our work is just beginning. We must continue to tell these stories to ensure that the public and industry are not only made aware of the environmental challenges we face but are also informed of the ways that Albertans are taking action. Through this awareness and education, we help build hope and inspiration which will propel us forward to protect our environment and build a better future.
